Phones, Glasses, and Receipts
Don’t know what to do with your old cell phones and used eyeglasses? Don’t throw them away or let them pile up in a box in the back of your closet! Donate them to two worthy causes right here in West Michigan!
OLL is now collecting cell phones (with charging cords) for Resilience Domestic Violence Shelter, which will reprogram them for their women to use for emergency 911 calls.
We are also now collecting used eyeglasses and cases for the Lions Club of Grand Rapids, which will clean, examine, and test them for prescription. Then they will distribute the glasses to those in need at one of their many eye clinics locally or via one of their international mission trips.
Both collections will be year-round, so you can bring your donated phones and glasses when you come to church and put them in the marked totes in the coat room.
Finally, we are still collecting Family Fare receipts to benefit Corpus Christi Catholic School. The receptacle is also in the coat room.
Note: We no longer collect ink cartridges, Campbell’s soup labels, or Box Tops for Education.
