Share Your Musical Talents!
Our Music Ministry at OLL is dedicated to enhancing the worship and prayer experience during Mass. Our singers and instrumentalists lead traditional hymns accompanied by our pipe organ. If you have a good singing voice or play a wind, brass, or string instrument, we would love to have you join our Music Ministry! You are always welcome to try out a rehearsal or participate in a Mass whenever you’re able. Liturgy Choir– This choir alternates singing at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday Masses, with a weekly rehearsal on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. This choir also sings for Feast Days and Holy Week. New members are welcome at any time. No classical training is required, practice recordings are available online to help learn the music.
Children’s Choir– The OLL Children’s Choir is open to any child in third grade and above. They sing for the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Christmas Eve, with a musical prelude beginning at 4:30 p.m. They rehearse on Thursdays in December, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. – includes our rehearsal and a pizza party!
Resurrection Choir– The OLL Resurrection Choir sings for Funeral Masses and All Souls Day. New members are welcome at any time. No classical training is required, practice recordings are available online to help learn the music. We rehearse 45 minutes before a Funeral Mass. Several times throughout the year, we have additional rehearsals to learn new music on Tuesdays, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
Cantors– Cantors lead the music at Mass every week, as well as for funerals and weddings. You must be proficient in reading music, able to maintain consistent tempos, and have a strong and clear voice.
Instrumentalists– Do you play a brass, wind, or string instrument? There are many opportunities for you to play at Mass! Soloists and small groups enhance our musical liturgy, and we would love to have you join us regularly or for special occasions!
