Home and Facility-Based Parishioners Christmas Gifts

Bring In Your Donations November 6 – 18

OLL will be collecting items to assemble Christmas gifts for our home and facility-based parishioners. Thank you for remembering and supporting them this holiday season. Take a tag from the tree in the Gathering Space and return the unwrapped item with the tag to the Gathering Space by 4:00 p.m. on November 18.

If you are interested in helping to deliver Christmas gifts to our home and facility-based parishioners, please get in touch with Pat Whitaker, Parish Nurse and Parish Care Coordinator, at X203 or parishnurse@oll.org to let her know. Deliveries usually take place in early December.

The requested items on the tags found in the Gathering Space have been approved by the facility chaplains as needed for their residents. If you are unable to provide the specific item requested on a tag, please choose another tag. Until everyone has had a chance to take a tag, please take only one or two.

Notes About Specific Items:

  • There are photos of the usable varieties of lip balm and soup ingredients on the Health Ministry bulletin board.
  • The air in care facilities is very dry, and residents often lick their lips, leading to painful, cracked lips. Flavored or scented varieties are not usable as they cause residents, especially those with dementia, to lick their lips even more, leading to even drier lips.
  • The bags of kisses are not individual gifts; they are opened to enable a handful of kisses to go into each gift bag.
There will be a Funeral Mass for Pat Hoffman on Saturday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m.Read the Obituary
