Register for 2019-2020 Discipleship Classes and Parish Family Gatherings
Learn about our vision for the future of Discipleship at Our Lady of the Lake, including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, at ollvision.org.
Our Preschool and Elementary Ministry endeavors to create a culture of lifelong faith development which empowers parents, families, and individuals to live their call to holiness and discipleship.
We offer a variety of religious education classes for children and youth age three years old through twelfth grade to assist parents in echoing the Catholic faith and sharing the Gospel with their children. It is the expectation of the Church that we continue to grow in faith throughout our lives. We offer several options at various times (see below) to best meet each family’s needs.
To register, complete the registration form (or do it online) and any additional forms as needed (Medical Action Plan is a form that must be signed by a physician for any child with severe allergies.) Print them and bring to church or mail with payment to: Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 480 152nd Avenue, Holland, MI 49424.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS): Three Years – Third Grade
CGS is a Montessori-based discipleship class for students age three years through second grade. It follows a hands-on approach that allows students the opportunity to experience religious values while celebrating their uniquely childlike, enthusiastic enjoyment of God. Students must be three years of age by September 1 and be completely toilet trained. Sunday and Wednesday class options are open to three-year-olds through third graders. Choose the time that works best for your family.
Elementary School Year Discipleship Classes: Grades 4-5
These traditional classes take place on Sunday evenings. The curriculum is all new in 2019-2020.
Parish Family Gatherings: All Ages!
Parish Family Gatherings are once a month whole community events that draw families together for faith renewal and fellowship. There is a yearly fee of $30 per person or $75 per family, which will include the meal, faith building activities, and breakout sessions for all ages. Retreats to help prepare families for the seasons of Advent and Lent will be included in the five sessions. All Parish Family Gatherings take place the first weekend of the month after the Saturday 5 p.m. Mass.
