Advent With Mary

Advent With Mary

Download our parish’s Advent With Mary guide, which includes suggested devotions for individuals and families, plus additional information on Advent events and giving opportunities.

Our Lady gave everything she had, even her very self, to bring our Lord into the world. This Advent, God is calling each of us to do the same. We are all invited to follow our Lady’s example by quieting our hearts in prayerful anticipation, serving our neighbors, being good stewards of our parish, and spreading the joyful news that a Savior has been born. Read on to learn about Advent opportunities for individuals, families, and the whole parish.

Advent Events and Giving Opportunities:

  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation: Receive the Lord’s mercy and prepare for the joy of Christmas through sacramental Confession on December 4 and 11 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. These times are in addition to the regular Confession time on Saturdays.
  • Eucharistic Adoration on St. Nicholas Day: Spend some quiet time with Jesus this Advent. While you’re at it, check the Advent Resource Table for ideas on how to celebrate St. Nicholas’ Day. Adoration will now end at 4 p.m. due to a funeral visitation.
  • Knights of Columbus Coat Drive for Kids: On Saturday and Sunday, December 7-8, the Knights will be collecting both new winter coats and monetary donations.
  • Giving Tree for the Children’s Advocacy Center: This year we are collecting winter clothing for children in our community who have been sexually abused. The new deadline is Sunday, December 15.
  • Prison and Jail Ministry Christmas Drive: Our parish is collecting items for this diocesan ministry that serves our local prisons, jails, juvenile detention centers, and shelters. The deadline is Sunday, December 8.
  • Mary and the Messiah Seminar: Delve into the Scriptures of Advent and Christmas and discover how the Old and New Testaments are woven together with a golden thread of prophecies and fulfillment. This free seminar, offered on December 9 and 18 at 6:30 p.m., is taught by Greg Smith.
