Women deserve support and care, not abortion. At any time, each of us can support women in difficult or unexpected pregnancies by donating to our local pregnancy center or learning about foster care and adoption. You can also sign a petition in the coming months that creates legislation to ban dismemberment abortion. The procedure—which dismembers a living child in the womb—does nothing to help Michigan women.
Bishop Walkowiak and the other Catholic bishops of Michigan are urging all Catholics to sign the End Dismemberment Abortion Petition. If successful, this petition would ban the procedure without risking the governor’s veto. Christ calls us to protect those who cannot protect themselves, and this legislation will help save many vulnerable unborn children. The petition will be available to sign after all Masses in the narthex on the following weekends:
- August 10-11
- August 17-18
- September 7-8
- October 5-6
