Pastoral Care

As ministers of care, we hope to participate in living and sharing the "Good News" of Jesus, especially among the sick, shut-in, and bereaved. We remember the words of Jesus "Do this in remembrance of me."

Be a part of a ministry team that

·   sends greeting cards to the sick and shut-ins;

·   takes the Eucharist to the sick and shut-ins;

·   visits shut-ins in homes and nursing homes;

·   organizes luncheons at times of funerals;

·   provides food for funeral luncheons;

·   provides transportation for medical appointments

Parish Nurses: Volunteers can call Parish Nurses at 616-399-1062 X 203.

·   A source of health education.

·   Monthly blood pressure screening.

·   Annual flu shot clinics.

·   Home visits

·   Annual retreat for medical personnel.

·   Assist the Red Cross with the organization of a blood drive twice a year, once at St. Francis deSales and once at Our Lady of the Lake

Witness to Hope Cancer Support Group:      Mission Statement:

A support group offering emotional solace and encouragement to people who might otherwise feel they are fighting alone. A nondenominational support group for those

·   touched by cancer- survivors,

·   currently fighting the disease, or

·   who have lost a loved one to cancer.

All are welcome to the meetings.

Second Thursday of each month at 7pm

A.A. Meeting:  weekly A.A. meetings. Friday 7:30-8:30pm.

Jail/Prison Ministry
Bring Catholic presence to the incarcerated: Prayer Services, Bible Study, Music Ministry.

Senior Friends
Promote friendship, education and the physical, mental and spiritual welfare of the 70+ generation. Gatherings take place following the First Friday, 9 am Mass, for coffee, snack and fellowship. Everyone is welcome! Contact Ann Hubbard for more information at abhubbard@sbcglobal.net.

Primer Timers (Well, Wise, Whole)
Provides adult members the opportunity to gather socially on a monthly basis in the evening.
