Director of Faith and Family Ministries
Full-time. Oversees all faith formation programming of adult, family, pre-school and elementary, middle school and youth ministries, and has supervisory and training responsibility for each of the ministry team coordinators. Takes a central role in developing and leading adult and family ministries, and the RCIA team. Oversees catechist formation, certification and Virtus Training. Prepares and oversees budgets. Implements and maintains Diocesan policies and procedures.
This candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic who understands and enthusiastically supports the mission and purpose of the Church and parishes; is able to adhere to and understand the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in order to evaluate curriculum and catechetical programs for their faithfulness to church teaching. In addition to this, the candidate is able to maintain confidentiality and presents him or herself in a professional manner; has basic proficiency with a personal computer so as to be able to carry out normal job related functions, and is willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
A Master’s degree in religious education or theology is preferred, but a Bachelor’s degree in these areas will be considered if coupled with an extensive and effective work experience. Training in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is preferred and familiarity with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd curriculum is desired. In addition, this candidate should have strong relational, leadership and administration skills, and strong oral and written communication skills. Salary will be based on education and experience.
